The main thing is to be proud of the work you do, to live true to yourself. Activity is another name for happiness. What's important is that you give free, unfettered play to your unique talents, that you live with the full radiance of your being. This is what it means to be truly alive.

Got up at 7:00 on the 23rd. Attended the sports festival – with the conviction that Sensei was also in attendance. A festival of youth. Spectators numbered more than seventy thousand. A magnificent spectacle. Excellent.
Greatly missed Sensei's presence.
It was President Toda alone who always watched over us youth with love and compassion. We found lives truly worth living. We were happy.
