Wonderful women rise up

To the wonderful SGI-UK Women’s Division – many congratulations on celebrating SGI-UK Women’s Division Day, May 31! writes SGI-UK WD Leader Suzanne Pritchard

To mark this occasion, members of the Women’s Division are taking the lead for the discussion meeting in June.SGI President Ikeda states in his lecture on the Supremacy of the Law: “When women of great courage, optimism, and wisdom join together, society will change profoundly. When a united force of fearless women emerges, the times will change dramatically. When women with the rich sensitivity and deep compassion of nurturers and protectors of life rise into action, human society will be transformed on a fundamental level. (Newsletter 7868)

Thank you for “rising into action” to create and support various types of meetings this month – friendship events, mini-meetings and vibrant discussion meetings. Through taking the lead this month, let’s generate a great momentum towards the realisation of the great vision of human happiness that is Kosenrufu. It is 50 years since President Ikeda first came to Europe with the vision of his mentor burning in his heart.

Regarding the significance of this year, Sensei has said: “Mr Toda cherished a grand 100-year vision for Kosen-rufu. The Soka Gakkai’s centennial (in 2030) will most certainly be the time when we see the completion of a solid, unshakable foundation for ‘establishing the correct teaching for the peace of the land’, built through the efforts of our gathering of awakened ordinary people who have emerged around the world. From there, a great current of Kosen-rufu, of happiness for all humankind, will flow even more vibrantly, continuing ‘for ten thousand years and more, for all eternity’ (WND-1, 736).

“That is why each year of the next two decades to 2030 is so crucial. And 2011 is the first year in that journey. Now more than ever, let us focus our energies on expanding our network of friendship and trust in our communities to further solidify the foundation for ‘establishing the correct teaching for the peace of the land’.” (Newsletter 8226)

With my warmest wishes
Suzanne
